none・never を使った英文

none は否定語句のひとつで、「だれも…ない」「どれも…ない」「少しも…ない」という意味を表します。never は「not + ever」を意味し、「どんな場合にも〜しない」「少しも〜ない」という強い否定語です。

・never … without 〜ing
例：I never see that play without crying.
「あの芝居を見れば必ず泣かされる。」

・never fail to do
例：He never fails to write me once a month.
「彼は月に１度必ず私に手紙を書いてくる。」

・never … but 〜
例：I never pass my old house but I think of the happy years I spent there.
「昔住んでいた家のそばを通るといつもそこで過ごした楽しかった日々を思う。」

・never(none) the + 比較級 + for …
例：I'm never the wiser for the explanation.
「私はその説明を聞いてもやっぱりわからない。」

・none too(so) 〜
例：The pay is none so good.
「給料はちっともよくない。」

・none other than 〜
例：It was none other than my father.
それはほかでもない私の父だった。
